Buy SOCKS5 proxies
Every plan works as both SOCKS5 and HTTP — your software picks the protocol. You pay for gigabytes, not for each address.
How SOCKS5 differs from HTTP
An HTTP proxy understands web requests: web pages, APIs, file downloads. That's enough for browsers, antidetect browsers and most scrapers. SOCKS5 works one level lower and carries any TCP connection, so apps that do more than browse websites use it: messengers, desktop clients, your own scripts.
If your software supports both, use HTTP for websites — everything supports it. SOCKS5 is for software that accepts only SOCKS5, or traffic that isn't regular web traffic.
Where you need SOCKS5
- Scripts and scrapers for data collection, monitoring and automation: Python, Node.js, curl.
- Telegram on phone and desktop — its built-in proxy setting supports SOCKS5 with a username and password.
- Proxifier and similar tools that route any app through a proxy.
- Antidetect browsers: AdsPower, Dolphin Anty, Octo Browser, GoLogin — each lets you choose SOCKS5.
How to connect
The host is gw.prokso.com. Port 824 gives a new IP for every connection, ports 10000–20000 give sticky sessions: one IP you can keep for 1 to 120 minutes. The same sticky-session ports work as both HTTP and SOCKS5. Choose SOCKS5 in the generator on your plan page and the lines come out in the right format.
# new IP for every connection; socks5h resolves DNS through the proxy too
curl -x socks5h://USERNAME:PASSWORD@gw.prokso.com:824 https://api.ipify.org
# Python: pip install "requests[socks]"
proxy = "socks5h://USERNAME:PASSWORD@gw.prokso.com:10001"
Use socks5h instead of socks5 when your software supports it: then the proxy, not your ISP, resolves website addresses. Step-by-step guides for Telegram, Proxifier and other apps are in Guides.
Username and password or the IP whitelist
By default SOCKS5 uses a username and password. Some software (Chrome, for example) can't send a password for SOCKS5. In that case add your computer's or server's IP on the plan page — up to 5 addresses — and the proxy lets them in without a username and password.
Pricing
| Type | Price per GB | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Residential | $1.59 | scraping, market research, SEO |
| Mobile | $2.50 | social media, ads, app testing |
| Datacenter | $0.80 | fast scraping and bulk automation |
SOCKS5 and HTTP cost the same: you pay only for traffic. Purchased gigabytes never expire.
Good to know
Our proxies carry TCP only. UDP isn't supported, so messenger calls and online games won't work through them. Mail ports are closed, so you can't send email through the proxy. The full list of open ports is on the blocked sites page.
Cheap SOCKS5 proxies: pricing and payment
SOCKS5 costs the same as HTTP here: you pick the protocol in the generator, and the price depends only on the IP type — datacenter $0.80, residential $1.59, mobile $2.50 per GB. So the cheapest SOCKS5 proxies are datacenter ones. You can buy SOCKS5 proxies with crypto (USDT, BTC, ETH, LTC, TON); there is no subscription, and unused traffic never expires.

FAQ
Do I need to buy SOCKS5 separately?
No. Every plan works as both HTTP and SOCKS5. The protocol depends only on the port and your software's settings.
Which port is for SOCKS5?
824 for a new IP per connection, 10000–20000 for sticky sessions.
Is UDP supported?
No, TCP only. Websites, messengers and most software work; calls and online games don't.
Why doesn't Chrome accept SOCKS5 with a password?
That's how Chrome works. Switch on the IP whitelist or use HTTP port 823.
What is socks5h?
The same SOCKS5, but the proxy resolves website addresses instead of your computer, so your ISP doesn't see which sites you open.
Can I choose a country and city for SOCKS5?
Yes, just like HTTP: a country, and in advanced mode a region, city, ZIP code or carrier.
How much is a SOCKS5 proxy?
The same as HTTP: datacenter $0.80, residential $1.59, mobile $2.50 per GB. The protocol does not change the price.
Can I buy SOCKS5 proxies with crypto?
Yes. We accept USDT, BTC, ETH, LTC, TON and other coins; you choose the network on the payment page.
