Proxy traffic calculator
Pick a task, enter the number of actions per day and the period — the calculator shows the volume in gigabytes and the cost for each proxy type.
You need about — GB
| Proxy type | Price per 1 GB | Total | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Datacenter proxies | $0.80 | — | Buy proxies |
| Residential proxies | $1.59 | — | Buy proxies |
| Mobile proxies | $2.50 | — | Buy proxies |
This is an estimate: real usage depends on the site, images, video and repeated requests. Gigabytes you buy never expire, so you can start with less and top up.
How traffic is counted
Pay-per-traffic proxies count everything that passes through them: both your request and the site's response. Almost all of the volume is the response: the page HTML, images, scripts, video. So usage depends not on the number of requests but on how much each loaded page weighs.
The formula is simple: the weight of one action in megabytes is multiplied by the number of actions per day and by the number of days. The result is divided by 1024 to get gigabytes.
Where to get the page weight
The values in the list are reference points, not exact figures. The easiest way is to measure your own page: open it in a browser with developer tools on the "Network" tab and look at the total at the bottom. Enter that figure in the "MB per action" field — choose "Custom value" in the list.
The same page weighs differently depending on how you open it. A scraper that fetches only the HTML uses tens of times less than a browser that loads images, fonts and ads.
How to reduce usage
- Turn off image and video loading if the task does not need them.
- Request data through the site's API when it has one: the response weighs far less than a page.
- Do not download the same thing twice — store what you have already received.
- Enable response compression: most libraries do this by default.
- For high-volume collection of public data, start with datacenter proxies — they have the lowest price per gigabyte.
What to do with the result
Purchased gigabytes never expire, so there is no need to buy with a large margin: take enough for the first few days, look at the real usage in the plan statistics and top up. Prices and a comparison of types are on the pricing page; if you are not sure which type you need, the proxy finder will help.
FAQ
Is outgoing traffic counted?
Yes, everything that passes through the proxy is counted, in both directions. But requests weigh little: most of the volume comes from site responses.
Why does real usage differ from the estimate?
Page weight varies between sites and changes over time, and repeated requests and errors use traffic too. The calculator gives an estimate; the plan statistics show the exact figure.
How much traffic does one social media account use?
It depends on how much you scroll the feed and watch video. Working without video costs tens of megabytes per session, with video — several times more.
Does unused traffic expire?
No. Purchased gigabytes stay on the plan with no time limit until you use them up.
