Private and anonymous proxies

Only you can connect: your own username and password, or an IP whitelist. Websites see the proxy's address, not yours. Here is what is private and what is not.

What “private proxies” means at Prokso

People use “private proxies” for two different things. The first is private access: only someone who knows the username and password, or whose IP address is whitelisted, can connect. Every Prokso plan has this: you get your own credentials, and the whitelist holds up to 5 addresses. The second is a dedicated IP that nobody else ever gets. On pay-per-GB plans we do not sell those: the pool is shared, so an address may have been used by another customer before you. For an address of your own, see static proxies.

If you need one address for a while, use a sticky IP: a port in the 10000–20000 range keeps the same IP for 1 to 120 minutes. For social media and ad accounts that is usually enough.

How anonymous these proxies are

The website you visit sees the proxy's IP address — a home ISP, a mobile carrier or a datacenter, depending on the type. To skip addresses that sites have already flagged as proxies or VPNs, turn on the anonymity filter in the pool settings. Anonymity does not override the acceptable use policy: spam, attacks and fraud are prohibited, and we act on abuse reports.

Which type to choose

TypePrice per GBBest for
Residential$1.59scraping, market research, SEO
Mobile$2.50social media, ads, app testing
Datacenter$0.80fast scraping and bulk automation

For account work, take residential or mobile addresses with a sticky IP. For scraping and bulk requests, use rotating datacenter IPs: here anonymity comes from constantly changing addresses. You can buy private proxies with no subscription — you pay per GB and unused traffic never expires.

How to connect

Create a plan, open the generator and choose the country, the protocol — HTTP or SOCKS5 — and the IP mode. A line such as host:port:username:password goes into an antidetect browser, an app or a script. If your software cannot handle a password, add your IP address to the whitelist in the plan settings.

FAQ

Do you sell dedicated proxies that only one customer uses?

Not on pay-per-GB plans: the address pool is shared. For an address that is yours alone, see static proxies. What is private is the access: your username and password or the IP whitelist. If you need one address for a session, use a sticky IP — up to 120 minutes.

How are private proxies different from free public ones?

A public list is open to everyone, so the addresses are slow and long since blocked, and whoever runs them can see your traffic. Here only you have access, and the addresses come from a pool of real ISPs and carriers.

Can a website see my real IP address?

The website sees the proxy's address. You can check what it sees on the My IP page, which also tests for WebRTC leaks.

How much do anonymous proxies cost?

Datacenter $0.80, residential $1.59, mobile $2.50 per GB. There is no extra charge for private access or the anonymity filter.
