How to read the result
- Working or not. The check connects to the proxy and opens a test address through it. "Working" means the proxy accepted the credentials and the request went through.
- Protocol. HTTP or SOCKS5 — whichever the connection succeeded with.
- External IP and country. The address the site will see. It does not have to match the address you connect to: the gateway and the exit address are different things.
- Response time. How long the request through the proxy took. For residential and mobile addresses it is noticeably longer than for datacenter ones.
If the proxy does not work
Most often the cause is in the line: an extra space, the username and password swapped, the wrong port. Copy the line from the dashboard again. If the format differs from what your program needs, convert it in the proxy format converter.
If the check passes here but the proxy does not work in your program, the proxy is fine and the cause is in the program's settings or your network. What a specific code means is described on the proxy error codes page.
What the check does not show
It answers the question "does the proxy work", but not the question "will a specific site accept it". Every site has its own access rules, and they can only be tested on the site itself.

Do you store my proxies?
No. The list is checked and immediately discarded; passwords are never saved.
Which formats are supported?
host:port, host:port:username:password, username:password@host:port, host:port@username:password, username:password:host:port and protocol://username:password@host:port.
Why doesn't a proxy work?
Most often the username or password is wrong, the traffic has run out, or access is allowed only from certain IPs. Check the settings in your provider's dashboard.
