Proxies for Etsy
Etsy shows shoppers prices in their local currency, their own shipping cost and part of the search results based on their country. A proxy from the right country lets you see your shop the way customers abroad see it.
Why Etsy sellers use proxies
Etsy is an international marketplace for handmade, vintage and design goods, and most of its buyers are in the US, the UK, Germany and Canada. At the same time, the platform adapts to each visitor: the currency, shipping cost and sometimes even the order of items in search depend on their location.
If you sell from Ukraine or Poland, the Etsy you see from your office is not the version your buyer in London or Chicago sees. A proxy helps with three tasks: researching trends, prices and search results by country, checking your shop, listings and ads as a buyer sees them, and signing in to your shop from a stable address.
The rules first
Etsy has rules on how many shops one seller can run and prohibits opening a new shop after a suspension. A proxy does not change these rules: the platform verifies sellers by documents, payment details and history, not just by IP. We do not describe ways to get around bans.
Before opening another shop, read Etsy's current seller policy. If you run client shops as an agency, the general principles of working with several profiles are in the multi-accounting use case.
Trends, prices and search results by country
The same search on Etsy in the US and in Germany paints a different picture: different sellers at the top, different prices, different styles. Before launching a new collection, it pays to see what already sells where you want to sell.
Choose a country in the generator and open Etsy in a clean profile without signing in. Pay attention to:
- which items and shops rank at the top for your keywords;
- the price range for similar items in the local currency;
- how much shipping costs and whether there are local sellers with fast delivery;
- which suggestions the search bar shows - a great source of keywords.
For an overall view of a country, a plain country selection is enough. You can specify a region, city or ZIP in advanced mode, but traffic with precise geo (region, city, ZIP or carrier (ASN)) is counted double, and for Etsy a country is usually enough.
Your shop and listings as a buyer sees them
Through a US, UK or German proxy, find your items by your keywords and check:
- where your listings rank in search;
- what price and shipping cost the buyer sees;
- whether delivery times to their country display correctly;
- how your shop page looks when you are not signed in.
Check in a clean browser profile: Etsy remembers your currency, language and country in settings and cookies, and the saved values will override the country of your IP. For this kind of check, the "Sticky session" mode on a port in the 10000-20000 range is convenient: the whole check runs from one address.
Etsy Ads in other countries
If you promote listings with Etsy Ads, it helps to see where they show up for buyers in different countries. With an IP from the right country, you can see whether your listing appears in search for your keywords and which items it sits next to. How to set up this kind of check is covered in the ad verification use case.
Do not click your own ads during a check: every click costs you money. Just view the page.
Managing your shop from a stable address
If you move around a lot or several people from different countries work on the shop, the platform sees sign-ins from one place, then another. A proxy helps you sign in to your shop from a single stable address.
Use residential proxies at $1.59 per GB or mobile ones at $2.50 per GB in the "Sticky session" mode: the port holds one IP for 1 to 120 minutes, 30 by default. Keep the shop in a separate browser profile with its own port and country. A sticky residential or mobile IP can change early if the device goes offline - the port then gets a new address in the same country.
If you also sell on other platforms, the general principles are collected in the marketplaces use case.
What to know in advance
- A proxy does not override Etsy's rules: the platform sets the terms for sellers, advertising and data collection.
- We do not promise that the platform will accept a particular address: that access decision is the platform's own.
- Banks and payment systems are blocked through our proxies - handle payouts from your usual connection. The list is on the blocked sites page.
- For large-scale data collection, Etsy has an official API with its own terms; collect only public data, with no personal data of buyers.
How much traffic you need
Etsy pages are mostly photos, so they are fairly heavy. Researching prices and search results does not always need images: turn off their loading, and usage will drop noticeably. Traffic is counted in both directions. The traffic calculator helps you estimate the volume; the gigabytes you buy never expire, and prices are on the pricing page.

FAQ
How do I see Etsy as a US shopper sees it?
Choose the US in the generator and open Etsy in a clean profile without signing in: you see prices in dollars, shipping and where your items rank in search.
Which proxies should I use to work in my Etsy shop?
Residential or mobile ones in the "Sticky session" mode, in a separate browser profile with its own port.
Do I need precise geo for Etsy?
Usually not: currency and shipping depend on the country. Traffic with precise geo (region, city, ZIP or carrier) is counted double.
Can I open another Etsy shop through a proxy?
The number of shops and opening new ones after a suspension are governed by Etsy's rules. A proxy does not change them: the platform checks far more than the IP.
Do you guarantee access to Etsy through a proxy?
No. The platform sets the access rules, and we have no influence over them.
