Proxies for Instagram

When you manage several client accounts from one computer, Instagram sees them all from one address and can link them. A separate stable IP for each account solves this.

Which proxy type to choose

Residential proxies are the main choice for daily work: posts, stories and direct messages. Mobile proxies are for registering new accounts and the first weeks of warm-up, when trust in the address matters most. Datacenter proxies don't suit Instagram: the platform recognizes them well.

One address per account

In the generator choose “Sticky session”. Each port from 10000 to 20000 keeps its own IP address for up to 120 minutes, and in advanced mode you can set the exact time. Give each antidetect profile its own port: account 1 gets port 10000, account 2 gets 10001, and so on.

Match the country to the account

If an account was created and used in Ukraine, use Ukrainian addresses. A sudden country change is one of the most common reasons for an extra security check.

How much traffic you need

Working with text and photos takes 50–300 MB per account a month. Watching Reels and uploading videos through the proxy multiplies that. Daily usage is shown in your dashboard.

How Instagram links accounts together

The IP address is only one signal. Instagram also sees cookies and browser or phone data, the phone number and email tied to the account, the payment method for ads, and behavior: what time you log in, how many actions you take in one go, whether contacts overlap. If five accounts share one browser with the same cookies, separate proxies won't keep them apart.

That's why a proxy only works together with a separate browser profile. The proxy handles the network, the antidetect profile handles the fingerprint and cookies, and you make sure each account has its own email, its own phone number and a human pace of work.

Setup in five steps

  1. Create a residential proxy plan, or a mobile one for new accounts. If you work for several clients, a separate plan per client is handy: its own username, its own balance and its own traffic limit.
  2. In the generator choose the account's country, the “Sticky session” mode and the number of lines you need. The default session duration is 30 minutes; set up to 120 for long sessions.
  3. Download the list in a format your antidetect browser accepts, for example username:password@gw.prokso.com:10000.
  4. Create one profile per account and give it its own port: account 1 gets 10000, account 2 gets 10001. Step-by-step guides are available for AdsPower, Dolphin Anty and Octo Browser.
  5. Before logging in, open the IP check inside the profile: the country should match the account, and WebRTC shouldn't reveal your real address.

A port keeps one IP until the session expires, then gets a new address in the same country. A residential or mobile IP can also change earlier if the device goes offline. For Instagram that's normal: real people change addresses too when they switch from home Wi-Fi to mobile data. What matters more is that the country doesn't jump around.

Warming up a new account and common mistakes

A new account looks more suspicious than an old one during its first weeks, so take it slowly. Fill in the profile, follow a few pages in your niche, scroll the feed and watch stories. Add posts and direct replies gradually, not hundreds of actions in one evening.

During warm-up keep the account on one country and, if possible, one address type: mobile first, then residential, without switching back and forth every day. Log in at roughly the same times a person with a work schedule would. Nobody publishes official warm-up periods, so watch how the account behaves rather than counting days.

What most often triggers extra checks:

  • logging into one account from Ukraine and then from Germany on the same day;
  • several accounts in one browser profile or sharing the same cookies;
  • one email or phone number for many accounts;
  • a sharp jump in activity right after sign-up;
  • datacenter IPs: Instagram recognizes server addresses easily.

To be honest about the limits: a proxy doesn't guarantee that an account won't be banned. The pool is shared, so another customer may have used an address before you. The pool settings include an anonymity filter that drops IPs sites have already flagged as proxy or VPN. If Instagram asks for verification right after login, turn on the filter and switch to another port.

Task, proxy type and traffic use

TaskProxy typeIP modeTraffic (roughly)

Watching Reels, uploading videoResidential“Sticky session”several times more than text and photos

Traffic is counted in both directions: what you send and what the page loads. Photos and videos in the feed weigh the most, so a “scroll and like” session costs more than replying to a few messages. If your antidetect browser can turn off video autoplay or image loading for idle tabs, usage drops noticeably.

To keep one heavy account from eating the budget, set a daily or weekly traffic limit on the plan and turn on email or Telegram alerts for when the balance runs low. Residential proxies cost $1.59 per GB, mobile ones $2.50.

Which countries people use most

The account's audience defines the country. Ukrainian brands use Ukraine proxies, clients from Poland and Germany use Poland and Germany, and English-language accounts use the USA or the United Kingdom. Choosing a country costs nothing extra. For a local business account you can narrow the geo down to a city such as Kyiv or Lviv, but traffic with precise geo counts ×2.

Phone, SOCKS5 and team work

If you manage an account from the official app, set the proxy in your phone's Wi-Fi settings; see the guides for Android and iPhone. All of the phone's traffic, including other apps, will then go through the proxy, so usage will be higher. If your account management software supports SOCKS5, use the same ports 10000–20000: they work with both HTTP and SOCKS5.

When several SMM managers run the accounts, don't send one username to everyone. Create a separate plan for each client or manager: each plan has its own username and password, its own balance and its own usage stats. If a project is on hold, pause the plan and move unused gigabytes to another plan of the same type. Traffic never expires, so traffic bought months ahead won't go to waste.

For an office with a fixed address, the IP whitelist is convenient: add up to five addresses to the plan and you won't need a username or password in the proxy line. One plan handles up to 1,000 concurrent connections.

Instagram proxies on iPhone, Android and desktop

On a computer, a proxy for Instagram goes into an antidetect browser profile, which is the easiest way to run several accounts. On a phone you enter it in the Wi-Fi settings; see the guides for iPhone and Android. You can buy Instagram proxies as a single plan for all accounts: give each account its own sticky port and the site sees a separate IP.

FAQ

Can I run 10 accounts on one plan?

Yes. One plan gives you thousands of ports, each with its own address. Traffic for all accounts is drawn from the same plan.

Which address should I use to register a new account?

A mobile one, in the country where the account will operate. After warm-up you can switch to residential.

Why does Instagram ask for verification even though the IP is separate?

The address is only one signal. Check that the accounts don't share a browser profile, cookies, email or phone number. If everything is separate, turn on the anonymity filter in the pool settings and switch to another port in the same country.

How many accounts can I run on one port?

One account per port is best. A plan has thousands of ports and you pay per gigabyte, so a separate port for each account costs nothing extra.

Can I manage accounts from a phone through your proxy?

Yes, you set the proxy in the Wi-Fi settings. See the step-by-step guides for Android and iPhone. Keep in mind that traffic from all apps will then go through the proxy.

How do I use a proxy for Instagram on my phone?

In the Wi-Fi settings: enter the host, port, username and password from the generator. Phones support HTTP proxies only, and the proxy applies to that Wi-Fi network. Step-by-step guides: iPhone and Android.
