A step-by-step guide to connecting Prokso proxies in Hidemium. It takes a few minutes.
Step 1. Get the proxy details from your dashboard
Open your plan and copy the host gw.prokso.com, port, username and password. Port 823 is HTTP and 824 is SOCKS5 (both give a new IP for every request); ports 10000–20000 keep one IP (sticky session) for up to 120 minutes and work as both HTTP and SOCKS5 (each port is a separate address). Set the country in the username: username__cr.ua.

Step 2. Open the Proxy block in the profile
Create a new profile and find the Proxy block in its settings. Choose the type: HTTP or SOCKS5.
Step 3. Enter the proxy details
Enter the address gw.prokso.com, a sticky port from 10000–20000, and your plan username and password.
Step 4. Check the proxy
Click Check Proxy and the app shows the proxy details. Then save the profile.
Step 5. Turn on the pre-launch check
If the port's IP changes over time, turn on Check proxy before start profile: Hidemium checks the proxy at every launch and updates the profile data to the current address.
Step 6. Check the IP inside the profile
Launch the profile and open the My IP page in its window: it should show the proxy's IP address and country. Your regular browser outside the profile shows your own IP — that's expected, the proxy only works inside the profile.
Why check the proxy before launch
A sticky IP lives for a limited time: from 1 to 120 minutes. After that a new address is assigned to the port, and the city or time zone may differ from the ones recorded in the profile. A check before launch updates this data for the current IP, and the profile does not look contradictory.
If you are logged in to an account in the profile, set the session duration with a margin: the less often the address changes, the more calmly the site reacts.
If Check Proxy shows an error
- The type does not match the port. 823 is HTTP only, 824 is SOCKS5 only.
- The string was pasted in a different format. Convert it in the proxy format converter or fill in the fields manually.
- A typo in the address. It should be
gw.prokso.com. - The plan has run out of traffic. The remaining traffic is shown in your dashboard.
FAQ
How do I import a proxy list?
Open Proxy Manager → Import Proxy, choose the proxy type and the TEXT or FILE method. The line format is
Type|IP|Port|Username|Password
, e.g.
SOCKS5|gw.prokso.com|10001|username|password
. Then pick the saved proxy in a profile with the Select button.
The check fails. What should I do?
Make sure the connection type matches the port: 823 is HTTP only, 824 is SOCKS5 only; ports 10000–20000 accept both HTTP and SOCKS5. Check that the username and password were copied without spaces and that your plan is active.
Are ports 823 and 824 suitable for a profile?
For a profile with an account, no: the IP will change on every request. They are fine for one-off tasks where no login is needed.
Does the check before launch spend traffic?
Yes, but it is one short request: against the ordinary work of a profile it is not noticeable.
