Proxy setup in Incogniton

How to add Prokso proxies to Incogniton: the Proxy Library, a host:port:username:password line, HTTPS or SOCKS5 and a separate port per profile.

Your dashboard generates ready-made lines in the format you need: choose the country, IP type and protocol.

Key takeaways
  • Host gw.prokso.com, ports 823 (HTTP), 824 (SOCKS5), 10000–20000 (sticky sessions, HTTP or SOCKS5)
  • The username and password are in your dashboard on the plan page
  • After setup, check your IP on the My IP page

A step-by-step guide to connecting Prokso proxies in Incogniton. It takes a few minutes.

Step 1. Get the proxy details from your dashboard

Open your plan and copy the host gw.prokso.com, port, username and password. Port 823 is HTTP and 824 is SOCKS5 (both give a new IP for every request); ports 10000–20000 keep one IP (sticky session) for up to 120 minutes and work as both HTTP and SOCKS5 (each port is a separate address). Set the country in the username: username__cr.ua.

Step 2. Add the proxy to the library

Open the Proxy Library in the left menu and add a new proxy. Connection type: HTTPS or SOCKS5.

Step 3. Paste the line from the dashboard

Paste a line in host:port:username:password format into the ip:port field, e.g. gw.prokso.com:10001:username:password. Incogniton fills the username and password fields itself. For SOCKS5 choose the SOCKS5 type and a sticky 10000–20000 port (for an account) or 824 (a new IP for every request).

Step 4. Check and save

Click Check to see whether the proxy responds. If it does, save it with the Add button.

Step 5. Attach it to a profile

Open the profile settings, go to the Proxy tab and pick the proxy you just added from the library. Save the profile.

Step 6. Check the IP inside the profile

Launch the profile and open the My IP page in its window: it should show the proxy's IP address and country. Your regular browser outside the profile shows your own IP — that's expected, the proxy only works inside the profile.

HTTP or SOCKS5: which to choose in Incogniton

For working with sites in the browser there is almost no difference: both protocols carry the same traffic from the same IP. HTTP is simpler and always works. SOCKS5 is chosen when the profile uses extensions or services that need more than web traffic.

Something else matters more: the type in Incogniton must match the port. Port 823 accepts HTTP only, 824 accepts SOCKS5 only, and sticky ports 10000-20000 work with both.

If Check fails

  • The string was not split into the fields. Check that only the host and port are left in the address field, and that the username and password ended up in their own fields.
  • The connection type is wrong. Compare it with the protocol in the generator.
  • A space at the end of the password. You cannot see it in the field, but it breaks authentication. Paste the string again.
  • The port is closed in your network. Test the string in the proxy checker: if it works there, the cause is in your network or in security software on your computer.

FAQ

Can I enter the proxy directly in a profile, without the library?

Yes. When creating a profile you can enter a custom proxy on the Proxy tab: type, host, port, username and password. The library is just handier when you have many profiles.

The check fails. What should I do?

Make sure the connection type matches the port: 823 is HTTP only, 824 is SOCKS5 only; ports 10000–20000 accept both HTTP and SOCKS5. Check that the username and password were copied without spaces and that your plan is active.

Can I link one proxy from the library to several profiles?

You can, but the profiles will share one IP. For separate accounts, add separate strings with different ports to the library.

Do I need to change the proxy in the library when the session ends?

No. The entry stays the same: a new IP is assigned to the port. You only need to change it for a different country or a different proxy type.
