Key takeaways
  • Host gw.prokso.com, ports 823 (HTTP), 824 (SOCKS5), 10000–20000 (sticky sessions, HTTP or SOCKS5)
  • The username and password are in your dashboard on the plan page
  • After setup, check your IP on the My IP page

A step-by-step guide to connecting Prokso proxies in SessionBox. It takes a few minutes.

Step 1. Get the proxy details from your dashboard

Open your plan and copy the host gw.prokso.com, port, username and password. Port 823 is HTTP and 824 is SOCKS5 (both give a new IP for every request); ports 10000–20000 keep one IP (sticky session) for up to 120 minutes and work as both HTTP and SOCKS5 (each port is a separate address). Set the country in the username: username__cr.ua.

Step 2. Open the proxy settings

In SessionBox open the settings and go to the Proxy tab. Click Add New to create a proxy profile.

Step 3. Fill in the profile

Name the profile, choose the HTTP or SOCKS5 type, and enter the address gw.prokso.com, a sticky port from 10000–20000 and your plan username and password. Save the profile.

Step 4. Assign the proxy to a session

Open the settings of the session you need, go to the Other tab and pick the created profile in the Proxy block.

Step 5. Check the IP in the session

Open the session the proxy is assigned to and go to the My IP page in its tab: it should show the proxy's IP address and country. A regular tab outside the session shows your own IP — that's expected.

SessionBox sessions and proxies

SessionBox separates cookies between sessions, but it does not change the address itself: without a proxy, all sessions go out from one IP. To a site, that is several accounts from one address. A separate proxy profile for each session closes exactly this gap.

Temporary sessions are convenient for one-off tasks. For an account you work with all the time, you need a stored session with a proxy profile assigned to it.

If a session does not go online

  • The proxy profile is not assigned to the session. Creating a profile is not enough: you have to select it in the session settings.
  • The type does not match the port. 823 is HTTP, 824 is SOCKS5.
  • Another extension is interfering. VPN extensions and proxy managers take over control of the network.
  • The plan has run out of traffic. The remaining traffic is shown in your dashboard.

Check the IP on the My IP page opened in this very session.

FAQ

Can I use one proxy for several sessions?

Technically yes, but then all those sessions share the same IP address. If the sessions are different accounts, create a separate proxy profile with another port for each.

The proxy won't connect. What should I check?

The type must match the port: 823 is HTTP only, 824 is SOCKS5 only; ports 10000–20000 accept both protocols. Check that the username and password were copied without spaces and that your plan is active.

Does the proxy apply to ordinary browser tabs?

No. A proxy profile applies only to the session it is assigned to. Ordinary tabs go directly.

Can I set a country for each session?

Yes. Generate strings for the countries you need and create one proxy profile for each: the country is written in the username.
