A step-by-step guide to connecting Prokso proxies in Potatso. It takes a few minutes.
Step 1. Get the proxy details from your dashboard
Open your plan and copy the host gw.prokso.com, port, username and password. Port 823 is HTTP and 824 is SOCKS5 (both give a new IP for every request); ports 10000–20000 keep one IP (sticky session) for up to 120 minutes and work as both HTTP and SOCKS5 (each port is a separate address). Set the country in the username: username__cr.ua.
Step 2. Install Potatso
Find the free Potatso app by Potatso Lab in the App Store. It needs iOS 17 or later. Don't confuse it with "Potatso 2": that one is paid and hasn't been updated since 2017. For a plain proxy you don't need the paid Pro version, which removes ads and adds profiles.
Step 3. Add a proxy manually
On the app's main screen, add a new proxy and choose manual input rather than importing from a link or QR code. The server form opens.
Step 4. Set the type, server and port
Type: HTTP or SOCKS5. Server: gw.prokso.com. Port: 823 for HTTP or 824 for SOCKS5 with a new IP on every request, or a sticky port from 10000-20000: both protocols work on it and the IP holds for up to 120 minutes.
Step 5. Turn on password sign-in
Under authentication, choose password sign-in and enter the username and password from your dashboard. If the plan uses the IP whitelist, leave authentication off. Save the server.
Step 6. Choose Global mode and connect
Switch the routing mode to Global so that all traffic goes through the proxy, not just the sites in the built-in rules. Tap the connect button. On first launch iOS asks to add a VPN configuration: allow it and confirm with your passcode. A VPN icon appears at the top of the screen.
Step 7. Check the address
With Potatso still on, open the My IP page in the phone's browser. It should show the proxy IP address and country. If you see your own address, check that the connection in Potatso is really on.
FAQ
Why don't messenger calls work?
The proxies don't carry UDP, and voice and video calls and online games rely on it. Messages, websites and apps use TCP and do go through the proxy.
How do I turn the proxy off?
Tap the connect button in Potatso again or turn off VPN in the iPhone Settings. The phone goes straight back to the normal internet.
The proxy won't connect. What should I check?
Check the server
gw.prokso.com
without spaces, the port and the type: HTTP on 823, SOCKS5 on 824, either one on ports 10000-20000. An authentication error means a wrong username or password, or the plan has run out of traffic: check the balance on the plan page in your dashboard.
