Japan proxies
Residential, mobile and datacenter IP addresses in Japan. Residential IPs online now: 2,136.
Proxy types
Japan ranks #55 worldwide by the number of residential IPs in our pool.
Mobile addresses in Japan are scarce so far — 51. If you need more addresses for accounts, use residential ones: there are 2,136.
There are more datacenter addresses in Japan than residential ones (6,365). For scraping and rank tracking this is the cheapest option — $0.80 per GB.
Yahoo! JAPAN, Rakuten, Mercari: the Japanese market from the inside
The Japanese internet looks little like the European one. Yahoo! JAPAN is still one of the main start pages, LINE is the main messenger, and shopping happens on Rakuten Ichiba, Amazon.co.jp and Mercari. Many services show foreigners a reduced version, a different price, or do not open some sections at all. The only way to see the market the way a shopper in Tokyo sees it is from a Japanese address.
Japanese IPs are most often used for these jobs:
- Marketplaces and resale. Listings on Mercari, Rakuten Ichiba and Amazon.co.jp exactly as Japanese buyers see them. See proxies for marketplaces.
- Price comparison. Japanese stores often keep separate prices and promotions for the domestic market. Collecting that data is covered on the price monitoring page.
- Search. Rankings on google.co.jp and Yahoo! JAPAN, and checks for Japanese-language queries — proxies for SEO.
- Ads aimed at Japan. How creatives and landing pages look to a Japanese audience is only visible from a local IP. More in affiliate marketing.
- Social media. Japan-focused accounts on TikTok, Instagram or X. X is especially popular in Japan, and local trends there are their own.
A Japanese interface: ja-JP, yen and Asia/Tokyo
Many Japanese sites exist only in Japanese, with no English version. A site detects the country from the IP and the language from the browser settings. If the IP is Japanese but the browser asks for English or Ukrainian, some services will show a foreign version, and others will simply find the visitor odd. For local tasks, set the browser language to ja-JP. If the account is run in English, en-US with a Japanese time zone also looks fine.
Prices on Japanese sites are shown in yen (¥, JPY). Check that the currency on the page really is Japanese, otherwise you are collecting prices for foreigners rather than for local shoppers.
Japan has a single time zone, Asia/Tokyo, UTC+9, with no daylight saving time. Set the profile once and you will never get a mismatch in spring or autumn. What matters is that the antidetect browser takes the time zone from the IP rather than from your computer. Step-by-step setups are available for AdsPower, Dolphin Anty, GoLogin and Kameleo.
Japan is six to seven hours ahead of Kyiv. An account that supposedly lives in Tokyo but is mostly active at 3 a.m. local time looks strange. Plan activity for Japanese daytime hours.
Kanto, Kansai or Hokkaido: the city in your username
Japan stretches a long way from north to south, and local results in Sapporo and Fukuoka can differ. Most people live in the Kanto region around Tokyo and in Kansai around Osaka. For local tasks such as delivery, nearby stores or local ads, it is worth setting the city. In the generator's advanced mode, it goes straight into the username:
USERNAME__cr.jp;city.tokyo
Use Latin letters with no spaces or hyphens. The cities people pick most often:
- Kanto: Tokyo —
city.tokyo, Yokohama —city.yokohama, Saitama —city.saitama; - Kansai: Osaka —
city.osaka, Kyoto —city.kyoto, Kobe —city.kobe; - central Japan: Nagoya —
city.nagoya; - the north: Sapporo —
city.sapporoon Hokkaido, Sendai —city.sendai; - the south and west: Fukuoka —
city.fukuokaon Kyushu, Okayama —city.okayama.
For most tasks the country is enough: the site sees a Japanese visitor without a city. If Tokyo has no free addresses right now, nearby Yokohama or Saitama will give almost the same local picture. If you need a specific Japanese provider and know its ASN, you can set that in advanced mode too.
Which IP a Japanese site treats as local
Residential proxies are residential IPs from Japanese internet providers. They are the default choice for Mercari, Rakuten and accounts, because the address looks like an ordinary home connection in Tokyo or Osaka. $1.59 per GB.
Mobile proxies are 4G/LTE carrier IPs. People in Japan use the internet a lot from smartphones, so a mobile address looks natural for LINE-centred services and apps. They are used for accounts on TikTok and Instagram. $2.50 per GB.
Datacenter proxies, or server proxies, cost $0.80 per GB. They are good for scraping catalogs and checking google.co.jp results at volume. For sites with strict checks, residential is the safer pick.
Accounts on one address, scraping on rotation
For accounts, use the "Sticky session" mode, which means ports 10000–20000. Each port keeps one IP for 1 to 120 minutes, 30 by default. Do not switch the login country without a reason: if a profile was created on a Japanese IP, stay in Japan.
For collecting prices and search results, the "Rotating (new IP per request)" mode fits: port 823 (HTTP) or 824 (SOCKS5) on gw.prokso.com gives a new address for every request. If the scraper has to walk several pages from one IP, add a session number to the username in advanced mode, and the address will hold for about 30 minutes.
In your dashboard, open the generator, choose Japan, the protocol and a line format — username:password@host:port, host:port:username:password or another one your software understands. The finished list downloads as a .txt file. If you run a dozen Japanese accounts, give them a separate plan with its own username, its own traffic balance and its own spending limit. When traffic runs low, the dashboard sends a notice by email or to Telegram.
You can confirm the profile really exits in Japan and has no WebRTC leak on the My IP page. Traffic is bought without a subscription and never expires, so you can start with a small amount.
How to buy Japan proxies
To buy Japanese proxy servers, create a plan, choose “Japan” in the generator and pick HTTP or SOCKS5. Residential IPs in Japan cost $1.59 per GB, mobile $2.50 and datacenter $0.80; the price is the same for every country. Pay with crypto; the traffic you buy never expires.

Good to know for any country
- The pool is shared: another customer may have used an address before. The anonymity filter in pool settings removes IPs that sites already flag as proxy or VPN.
- The country is free. Traffic with precise geo (region, city, ZIP or ISP) is billed ×2: 1 GB of such traffic uses 2 GB of your plan, we add nothing.
- Availability in a specific city changes during the day. If there are no free addresses, remove the city or pick a neighbouring one.
- In a sticky session, the IP of a home or mobile device can change before the session expires — when the device goes offline.
- The proxies carry TCP only: messenger calls and online games don't work. Some sites are closed to all customers — see the blocked sites page.

The price does not depend on the country: residential $1.59 per GB, mobile $2.50, datacenter $0.80.
Can I choose a city in Japan?
Yes. In the generator's advanced mode you can set a city or an ISP. Traffic with precise geo is counted double.
Do Japan proxies work for Mercari and Rakuten?
Yes. For browsing listings and prices, use residential addresses: they look like ordinary home connections in Japan. More on the proxies for marketplaces page.
Do I need to change the profile time for Japan in summer?
No. Japan does not use daylight saving time, and Asia/Tokyo (UTC+9) applies all year. It is enough for the antidetect browser to take the time zone from the IP.
