Residential proxy

A residential proxy is a proxy with a home internet IP address that an ISP assigned to an ordinary subscriber.

The address of a residential proxy belongs to the network of a home ISP. To a website, such a visitor looks like a person sitting at home at their own computer.

That is why websites accept residential addresses more readily than datacenter addresses. They are used for marketplaces, ad verification, search rank tracking and work with accounts.

The downside is speed: it depends on the internet connection of a particular device, and the address can go offline at any moment. For high-volume tasks, rotation is used.

In Prokso residential proxies are paid for by the gigabyte, and choosing a country is free. See the residential proxies page for details.

FAQ

How is a residential proxy different from a mobile one?

A residential proxy has a home ISP's address, a mobile proxy has a mobile carrier's. Mobile proxies cost more and there are fewer of them; residential ones are more versatile.

Why does the speed of residential proxies vary?

Each address is an ordinary device on home internet. Every connection is different, so the speed varies from address to address.

Residential $1.59, mobile $2.50, datacenter $0.80 per GB
