Proxy server

A proxy server is a go-between for your device and a website: the site sees the proxy's address, not yours.

A proxy server takes your request, sends it to the website on its own behalf and returns the response to you. The site sees the proxy's IP address and uses it to work out the country, city and ISP.

A proxy is set up in a single program: a browser, an antidetect browser, a scraper, an app on your phone. This is how it differs from a VPN, which usually routes all of the device's traffic at once.

Proxies differ by whose addresses they use: residential, mobile and datacenter. This affects the price, the speed and how a website treats the address.

In Prokso all types connect the same way: one host plus the username and password of your plan. The country and the mode are set in the username and the port number.

FAQ

How is a proxy different from a VPN?

A VPN usually routes all of the device's traffic through itself. A proxy is set up in a single program, so you can use different addresses in different profiles and programs at the same time.

Can a proxy see my passwords?

An HTTPS connection is encrypted from your browser to the site, and the proxy cannot see its contents. It only knows which site you are contacting and how much data was transferred.

Residential $1.59, mobile $2.50, datacenter $0.80 per GB
