Backconnect proxy
A backconnect proxy is a setup where you connect to one gateway and it picks the exit address from a pool.
In the classic setup every proxy has its own address and port: a hundred proxies means a hundred lines in a list. In the backconnect setup there is one address to connect to, and behind it is a pool of thousands of exit addresses.
The gateway decides which address to send the request through: a new one on every request or the same one for the length of a session. You pass the country, city and other parameters in the username.
This approach is convenient: you do not need to update lists or track which addresses are still alive. When an address goes offline, the gateway simply replaces it with the next one.
This is how pay-per-traffic plans work in Prokso: one host for all countries, and the mode is set by the port and the username.
FAQ
Why is backconnect more convenient than a proxy list?
You do not need to upload or update lists: there is one address to connect to, and the gateway picks and replaces the exit addresses itself.
How do I set the country in this setup?
The country and other parameters are passed in the username. The generator in the dashboard builds a ready proxy line for the settings you choose.
